Manage internal communications, as well as other duties as assigned under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing and Communications The Duties of Internal Communications Manager will include the following:
Establish a corporate, system-wide internal communications strategy in conjunction with Vice President of Marketing and Communications, and input of Senior Leadership team.
With IT input and collaboration:
search, support, apply new communication tools or platforms to reach all audiences internally.
Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders, including volunteers, donors, physicians and boards when appropriate.
Plan, edit and write, or possibly provide lay out for, content in a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, weekly bulletin or Huddle, etc.
All content will undergo standard review process.
Meeting deadlines for publication is paramount.
Draft messages or scripts to support presentations to employees in written or spoken form, (Leadership Development training, orientation, etc) to provide brand consistency and image with brand templates.
Support the PIO messages as directed during Emergencies and support the Vice President of Marketing and Communications through Alpha designation for Incident Command.
Receive, triage or respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly.
Key skills The manager of internal communications should exhibit a lively interest in people, events, and action, both as they affect the McLeod Health System internally and externally and impact the overall health care needs of the community.
The manager must have the ability to use language persuasively, whether orally or on paper, in an effort to avoid high costs and be effective as a chief communicator of community services, physician services, HR issues, system changes, additions and other newsworthy events or policies that impact the organization.
Writing skills:
Required excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees Speaking skills:
Strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to staff.
Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organization's goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees Interpersonal skills:
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with communications, specialty services, programs, leadership, HR etc.
Additionally the manager must possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.
Creative skills:
You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies Digital skills:
Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential.
Qualifications Minimum:
A BA, in business, English, journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage, though other degrees are often acceptable.
Relevant experience Experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organization, is preferred but experience of writing for a variety of different audiences is also desired.
Prior management of complex projects and advising senior managers is also looked upon favorably.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
