HR POSITION SUMMARY Performs and oversees a variety of janitorial and custodial tasks to maintain a clean and orderly building and grounds.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES Achieve Results Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the interior of all the clinic buildings and grounds.
Responsible for keeping all of the toiletry and sanitary fixtures stocked at all times.
Ensures that all cleaning supplies are properly stocked and available when needed.
Operational Excellence Ensure and uphold the confidentially requirements of all patient records, manage all daily tasks and activities consistent with HIPAA, state and federal laws and regulations, as well as the clinic's policies and regulations regarding confidentiality and security.
Relationships Develop and ensure effective, positive relationships within and among the clinic staff, as well as with patients, vendors, contractors, and related resources.
Professionalism Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent the organization in a highly professional manner at all times.
Uphold and ensure compliance with and attention to all corporate policies and procedures, as well as the mission and values of the organization.
PRIMARY TASKS & DUTIES Cleans and services restrooms.
Sweeps, vacuums and mops all floors.
Gathers and disposes office trash.
Dust such items as furniture, countertops, file cabinets, door frames, light fixtures, ledges, etc.
Washes walls, baseboards, shelves, windows, mirrors, sinks, etc.
using a step ladder if needed.
Polishes furniture and metal work using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.
Keeps storage in a clean and orderly condition.
Disinfects and sterilizes equipment such as mops, brooms, and cleaning materials such as cloths.
Cleans grounds and parking lot of litter and debris.
Assists in the loading and unloading of supplies.
Maintains an inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies.
Refills all toiletry and sanitary fixtures in a timely fashion.
Handles all chemicals according to manufacturer's directions.
Keeps all chemicals under lock and key when not in use for the safety of the patients.
Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside vendors.
Assists with moving light furniture and office equipment.
Responsible for keeping all janitorial areas and equipment clean and orderly in appearance.
Other duties as assigned, and which relate to the success of Genesis Healthcare and the Care, Comfort, and Happiness of our patients.
Performs weekly, monthly and yearly safety checks throughout the facilities to ensure a safe and clean environment for the patrons of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.
Assists with preventative maintenance on building equipment and assists in maintaining accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules and SDS sheets.
Maintains records as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment and supplies such as floor buffers, vacuum cleaners, carpet cleaners and cleaning compound and solutions.
Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools and equipment of the janitorial service.
Ability to follow instructions.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to speak read, write and understand English.
Professional Basic computer skills needed for clocking in, checking email, checking intranet and maintaining records.
Communication, customer service or working with the general public, preferably in a medical care facility.
Physical/Environmental Ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods.
Ability to ascend/descend a ladder occasionally, as needed.
Physical ability to perform heavy work-exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally as needed to move objects.
Capacity to function in a sometimes stressful, multi-tasking environment.
