Provides Lean Transformation expertise and guidance through the development, documentation, implementation, and validation of Lean/ACE applications. Lead a variety of cost impact projects to reduce waste among production, internal logistics, supply chain, and business process etc.
1. Lead/participate in cell design, production preparation process projects to increase capacity and productivity per direct employee, reduce material cost and production area, etc.
2. Lead/participate in setup reduction and IE projects to reduce type 2/3 wastes in assembly and machining.
3. Lead/participate VSM projects to increase throughput and reduce lead time.
4. Lead/participate Process Certification projects to increase FPY.
5. Lead/participate in problem solving projects to improve manufacture quality, reduce SRR rate (SRR Scrap, Rework, Repair), improve machine OEE
6. Work with design team to facilitate DFM/DFA design change to reduce machining and manual time
7. Lead/participate logistics projects to establish lean internal logistics material feeding.
8. Help suppliers improve capacity and ensure on-time delivery.
9. Lead/participate in cross-functional problem investigation projects.
10. Perform other duties as assigned and required
11. Responsible to ensure full compliance with UTC Code of Ethics and Safety requirements
BA/BS in Engineering with at least 6 years experience or
MA/MS in Engineering with at least 2-5 years experience required
BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering with relevant work experience acceptable.
ACE Associate / 30% Operations Practitioner preferred.
Lean Six Sigma or Shainin certified preferred.
Experience on mechanical component design preferred
Project managing experience preferred
Experience on leading cell design event strongly preferred
Programming/Machining background preferred
Tooling knowledge preferred
Familiar with measurement instruments
Solid understanding of blue prints
Computer Skills: experienced on AUTOCAD, Microsoft OFFICE

Demonstrate sound leadership skills with a sense of urgency to obtain results
