Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical engineering leadership to product design, manufacturing process, and capital equipment development
Design, develop, and implement tooling, fixturing, and automation to enable successful NPI launches to meet quality, capacity and cost objectives
Collaborate with product engineering teams to drive design optimizations in Design For Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA), while driving the highest possible levels of capability
Working with a global cross-functional team, develop proof-of-concept, demonstrate capability of, optimize, implement, validate and control manufacturing processes both within client and supplier sites
Process Design. Ownership of all aspects of designing and implementing capable manufacturing processes, regardless of client or Supplier. Follow Six Sigma and LEAN principles to define critical requirements, design processes and/or lead design team to, define manufacturing specs, completing process qualification and demonstrate required capability.
Program Execution. Lead, or directly perform, the execution of NPI milestone requirements.
Project Leadership. The AME will deliver a turnkey manufacturing process to the Operations team and to transfer knowledge to the Manufacturing Engineer. In order to complete this, the AME-PL must be able to effectively lead cross-functional Engineering (MR, GRC) and GSC (AME, Sourcing, SQE, ME, etc.) team members. In addition, the AME-PL must provide technical leadership in the required discipline.
Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing advanced manufacturing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
Work with manufacturing leadership to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.
Ensuring regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.
Maintain full regulatory compliance with EHS, FDA, OSHA and other legal requirements.
Work in a global environment, across cultures, geographies and time zones.
Qualifications/Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree and 3 years' experience or Associates Degree and 5 years' experience or High School diploma with 7 years of experience in production, engineering or troubleshooting.
Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated strong communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.
Ability to identify and implement Best Practices.
